How to test soil fertility or nutrients levels?

Question

Well, soil test is very much required for commnercial farming to find out any soil nutrient deficiencies, and minerals like ‘N’, ‘P’, ‘K’, manganese etc.. As you know that, too low or too much soil nutrents can affect the crops grown in that soil. Soil pH is right indicator to tell exactly about the soil type. For exapmple, on soil pH scale (1 to 14), 1 is considered as acidic and 14 is considered as alkaline. If you would like to test the soil for its fertililty, there are 2 ways to do it.
1) You can get Do-It-Yourself kit (DIY) in major garden stores, with the help of this kit, you can measure the soil pH, and other major nutirents. This many give clear pictuure but can present ballpark (rough) view of the soil.
2) However, if you want to go with professional way you should send the soil to soil lab for testing. for this you should collect the soil in 5 to 6 spots land ( you should dig 4 to 5 inches deep while collecting the soil sample). You should mix all the collected sample and take to 2 to 3 cups of mixed soil and place it in a plastic bag. This is you sample soil which should be sent to soil test lab for testing.
