Why are farmed salmons bad?
Farmed salmons are much higher in contaminants which are harmful to the environment. These contaminants are found in the water they swim and also in the food they eat. These have higher levels of contaminants than the wild salmons. Some of these contaminants are polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs), dioxins and many chlorinated pesticides. PCBs is the dangerous pollutant found in salmon. These are associated with cancer and various health problems. On a study investigation over 700 samples of salmon, the PCB levels in a farmed salmon were eight times higher than in a wild salmon. The levels of contamination are deemed safe by FDA but not by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
